Valerie West wrote the feature films Irresistible Impulse, Reasonable Doubt and Justifiable Homicide, and the TV movies One of her Own for ABC and Escape from the Streets for NBC. She also wrote the treatment for the Disney film The Lion King. Her television credits include episodes of Houston Nights, Almost Grown, Blue Skies and She Wolf of London. She received her MFA in Screenwriting at UCLA and has been teaching screenwriting for over ten years in the UCLA MFA and Professional Programs. She also taught with Lew Hunter at his Nebraska Screenwriting Colony. Her script My Brother, My Keeper is now in pre-production for Lifetime.
